When I woke up this morning and took my first glance out of the window a thick layer of snow covered the trees and gardens. The walkway below was still undisturbed by footprints. Snowflakes danced in the air and are still dancing. Thick white and fluffy are they falling down from a grey sky. The house is still quiet while the world outside is becoming more and more beautiful. Soon I will be standing in the kitchen baking cookies for this afternoon. I can already imagine the smell permeating from the oven. A friend is coming over for celebrating advent, chatting in candle light, sipping tea or coffee - perhaps going out for a winter walk. That is Christmas for me.
